As of the year 2016, the Deo Volente continues to sail under a new name: Actia
Hasselter barge built in 1910 especially for transport in peat bogs. In 1926, the boat was motorised and carried cargo until the end of the sixties. Equipped with a two-masted rigging, the `Deo Volente´has been sailing the IJsselmeer and the Waddenzee since 1972 as a charter boat.
The boat's shape and its sail surface area of 240m² make the `Deo Volente´a stable and fast vessel! The living area, completely renovated in 1997, comprises 2 levels. The lower level, with a fully equipped kitchen, also has 6 sleeping cabins with small seating areas, for a total of 18 persons. The upper level offers accommodation and eating facilities for all guests. A skylight in the ceiling and four large windows with views across the water create an open and light atmosphere below deck!
