This magnificent tjalk is exceptionally well suited to smaller groups, such as outings with family or friends and stag/hen parties. Sailing on the IJsselmeer or the Frisian lakes with this cosy, luxurious ship is a wonderful experience. ‘Running aground’ on the Wadden Sea is highly recommended too, as is having a delicious barbecue on deck or a fun drinks session in the expansive seating area. In short, there are plenty of options with the Pelikaan!
The nice thing about hiring a sailing vessel is that there’s something for everyone. Sporty people who like to keep active can indulge their desire for physical exertion by hoisting the sail together—great fun guaranteed. Keen to steer the ship yourself? Just ask the skipper, who will be happy to teach you! Or would you prefer the total relaxation that comes with doing nothing? No problem! There’s enough space to sit in the sun with a book, or play a game with the kids in the convivial seating area. At any rate, this is very much a safe ship for children, as they’ll be safe and sound in the expansive seating area.
Spending time in the ship’s interior is also great fun. There are two elegant lounge areas, with comfortable seats and large tables where the whole group can pull up a chair. What’s more, the large windows ensure plenty of light, making a stay here extra enjoyable. The well-equipped galley means you can cook to your heart’s content. This ship’s kitchen comes with all modern conveniences, and just like the salon is light and spacious.
Up for a trip spanning several days? Then we can recommend this ship without hesitation, as the Pelikaan has six luxurious two-person cabins, two toilets and two showers on board. The beds in the cabins are at least two metres long, and when you arrive the skipper will have already made them for you. So you won’t need to bring any bedding yourself. That’s a lot easier!
In short, a trip spanning one or more days on the Pelikaan guarantees relaxation, fun and making the most wonderful memories together!
The skipper of the Pelican received very good reviews from his guests over the past sailing season about, among other things, the general impression of the ship, contact with the skipper and the provision of information during the trip, and was therefore named Tophost. He received an average rating of 4.9 on a five-star scale from his guests.
