The skipper and her crew welcome you aboard the 'Vrouw Dina'. This comfortable and cosy traditional sailing ship is a 'zeetjalk' with one mast and a total sail area of 230m². After a brief introduction to the ship it is time to hoist the sails and release the hawsers.
Abovedecks offers lots of room to move. There is a bench on the back of the deck and you can use the bean bags on the hatch cover. You can enjoy the weather and the view on the water. The roef (living room of the captain and crew) is accessible to guests but otherwise it remains the private residence of the crew. Your dedication is appreciated and we are happy to explain how sailing on a traditional sailing barge works.
Below decks, a staircase leads you to a bright and spacious saloon with a comfortable spacious seating area. You can adjust de layout so that the room is suitable as a conference room, dining room or party room. The interior light is entirely finished in oak. The ship is equiped with a galley and is provided with central heating.
In the forecastle, on the port side, is the guest entrance. Here the six two-person cabins are located, each with its own shower and toilet. The use of bed linen and duvets is included.
In 1974 the Vrouw Dina was called De Onrust. She was used as a holiday boat, with which the skipper as a young girl used to sail the Wadden Sea or Lake IJssel with her family. For a long time the ship was neither used nor maintained. In 2003 a reconstruction plan was set up and the work was started with great enthusiasm. However, the actual reconstruction was hindered by a few setbacks, but after two years of restoration work the vessel was finally ready to sail away from the shipyard. But that was only the outside, as in the spring of 2009 the interior was not finished yet and the rigging still had to be installed. Now the Vrouw Dina, as the ship was renamed, is tastefully furnished and meets all the requirements as regards safety and comfort.
