The only port on the island of Texel is Oudeschild. This is also the home port for the fleet of the Texel North Sea cutter. During the weekends they are moored in the fishing port. There are good facilities in the harbor such as showers and toilets. The harbor is likely to be grilled in. The supermarket is within walking distance. Near the harbor there is a small beach. The large beach is located on the North Sea side. At the northernmost point of the island stands the striking red lighthouse of Texel.
