The Korevaer is a beautiful authentic sailing ship with many modern facilities. Step aboard and enjoy a unique cruise on the IJsselmeer or Wadden Sea in the Netherlands and experience what it is like to sail on a historic sailing ship!
Plenty of space on deck
Although down below deck on the Korevaer is absolutely cosy, most guests move pretty quickly to the deck. This is not surprising; after all, from here you have the best view. Find a comfortable spot on the red deck and enjoy the view. There is plenty of room and plenty to see!
Dayroom
A striking feature of the Korevaer's dayroom is the wide staircase. This eye-catcher of the ship. Yet this beautiful staircase is not the only thing that characterises the ship. The spacious dayroom is a wonderful place to dine together with your party, party or play a fun game, for example.
Stay overnight
Visiting for several days? You can! It is possible to spend the night on board the Korevaer. Choose one of the comfortable cabins and sleep soundly! Each cabin has its own washbasin, so you can always freshen up quickly. The shared toilets and showers complete the ship.
History
The Korevaer was built in 1911 as a one-master. After it became clear that this 31-metre sailing ship was no use for transporting cargo, the mast was removed and an engine replaced it. The Korevaer was also lengthened by 6 metres. The ship then sailed for a long time as a barge. In 1997, the current owner bought the ship and shortly afterwards came up with the first renovation plans. This resulted in over 8 months of work and in May 1999, the ship was finally launched for the first time. Not as a one-mast but a two-mast clipper!
