The Museum Schokland is located on one of the last three residential mounds of the former island. The museum buildings are grouped around the historic church from 1834 and give an impression of the construction in the former Zuiderzee area. The exhibitions inform about the geology and archeology of the Northeast polder, the origin and destruction of the island, the life of the Schoklander population and the draining of the Northeast polder.
