About
The Weerribben-Wieden National Park is the largest wetland in Western Europe. In this water-rich natural area in the north of Overijssel you will find lakes and moats, extensive reed beds, meadows full of flowers and dense bog forest. In this haven of peace, rare animals such as the otter and black tern are regularly sighted. From observation posts you can observe many species of birds such as the Cormorant and the Great Egret, and on the meadows you will see many colorfully flowering plants, such as the Caltha and the Rhinanthus. Unique to De Wieden is also the rare floating mat. There is a tea house and an interesting visitor center, from where many (children's) activities are organized.
